Accessibility
We want Estiquik to be usable by contractors with disabilities. This page states honestly where we are — including what has not been tested — rather than claiming a conformance level we have not verified.
Our target
We aim for WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We have not completed a formal audit against it, so we do not claim conformance. Accessibility work is ongoing.
What is in place today
- Semantic HTML — real headings, lists, tables, buttons and form elements rather than generic containers
- Every form input has an associated visible label
- Keyboard navigation through forms, links and buttons, with visible focus outlines on inputs
- Text contrast on the light theme designed to meet AA for body text
- Responsive layout that reflows to narrow screens and tolerates browser zoom
- Page titles that identify each screen, and descriptive link text
- No auto-playing media, no flashing content, no time-limited interactions
- Data tables use proper header cells so screen readers can associate values with columns
Known gaps
- The application has not been tested with screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver).
- Status messages — "Saved to your account", number-conflict warnings — update on screen without ARIA live regions, so a screen reader may not announce them.
- The estimator's line-item grid is dense and has many inputs per row; keyboard-only navigation works but is laborious, and it has not been optimised for assistive technology.
- Project types are distinguished partly by emoji icons, which screen readers announce inconsistently.
- Some secondary text is deliberately small and may fall below AA contrast at default zoom.
- No formal audit or third-party accessibility review has been carried out.
Compatibility
Estiquik is built for current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox on desktop, tablet and phone. It relies on JavaScript and will not function with scripting disabled.
If something is blocking you
If any part of Estiquik prevents you from doing your work, email support@estiquik.com describing the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology and browser you use. We treat accessibility blockers as bugs and will tell you honestly whether and when we can fix it. If you need a document produced and cannot use the interface, contact us and we will help directly.
Feedback and enforcement
Accessibility legislation differs by jurisdiction — for example the AODA in Ontario and the ADA in the United States. If you believe we are not meeting an obligation that applies to us, please raise it with us first at support@estiquik.com so we have the chance to put it right.
